With the fast developed industry of polymer materials, retardant and relativestudy, production and application have leaped forward. Organosilicon flame retardant,which may be the most promising alternative instead of traditional retardants thatwould finally be eliminated as a result of the increasing pro-environment requirementsand other material properties, exhibited a series of excellent properties and environmentfriendly properties that make them accord the tendency, so organosilicon will havegreat potential in retardants’ exploration and application. For example, Organosiliconflame retardant have high when applied into PC, PC/ABS alloys, but when blends withpolyolefin, they can rarely reach the degree of UL94V-0. So our mainly work isemploying other retardant flame retardants on the basis of previously relative work, tocreat synergistic effect between them, which will finally improve the organosiliconflame retardation and their range of application.Our work mainly contains:1. Synthezis silicon resin with different side groups with phenyl silane andamidosilane as starting materials. Then take characterization of three kinds of organicsilicon resin through FT-IR.Discuss the thermal degradation of the silicone resinthrough dynamic analysis and TG-FTIR analysis.2. In order to select the silicone resin which has the best flame-retardant effect,different types of silicone resins were blended with PBT in different dosage, and Ph/Me=8:2Base-catalyzed silicone resin with methyl and phenyl was chosen as the rightflame retardant.Meanwhile,the addtion of the silicone resin should not exceed10%.3. Blend intumescent flame retardant system consisting of APP and MCA andsilicone resin above with PBT, and the oxygen index was tested.The results of TG andCONE analysis confirmed Synergistic effect between them. But the synergistic effectwas not obvious at lower temperatures and mechanical properties decline a lot, so thecomplex system is not the optimal choice.4. Blend CaCO3and silicone resin above with PBT, and results showed that withthe increased amount of organic silicon resin, their Limited Oxgen Index (LOI) enhanced, but when the addition was above3%, LOI began to decline. And so were thetensile strength and flexible strength.The results of TG and CONE analysis confirmedSynergistic effect between them. Moreover, we also observed the compact structure ofchar layers of PBT/CaCO3/Si system from SEM.
