Porous phosphated rice starch is a new kind of modified starch, and it is prepared by NaOH solution, glucoamylase hydrolysis, and modification from broken rice. Compared with common starch, it has not only the characteristics of rice starch, such as small, gentle aroma, safe, no-toxic and the characteristics of porous starch, like the adsorption properties but also the selective adsorption capacity which was given through the phosphate modification, these characters may broaden the scope of application of rice starch. This experiment has used broken rice as raw material, researched the preparation of porous phosphated rice starch, and added it to the cigarette filter tip to investigate its adsorption effects on the part of cigarette smoke. The effect of pH, temperature, hydrolysis time, the amount of glucoamylase, starch concentration and stirring rate on the preparation of porous rice starch were studied with hydrolysis ratio(HR) and oil absorption ratio(OAR) as indicators. In considering follow-up experiments and efficiency, the optimal conditions for hydrolysis was determined as follows: pH is4, temperature is40℃, hydrolysis time is8h, the amount of glucoamylase is28μL, starch concentration is40%, and stirring rate is30%.The effect of pH, temperature, time, and the amount of sodium tripolyphosphate on the preparation of porous phosphated rice starch by semidry method were researched with the degree of substitution as indicator. The best optimized reaction condition was: the amount of phosphate is4%(m/m), temperature is150℃, time is150min, pH is6that can get a kind of porous starch whose phosphated substituted ratio is0.09.The microstructure of porous rice starch and porous phosphated rice starch were observed by SEM, the results showed that they both have the characteristics of porous structure this is the theoretical basis for their adsorption capacity. The consequence of FTIR proved that the porous phosphated rice starch has phosphate key (P-O-C) this is the test reference basis for its selective adsorption capacity. This experiment has studied the adsorption effect on parts of cigarette smoke by added porous phosphated rice starch to cigarette filter tip, the results show that: porous phosphated rice starch has a significant effect on NH3in cigarette smoke, its clearance rate is48.79%, a inapparent effect on TPM and HCN, the clearance rate is1~3%, and no elimination on crotonaldehyde.
