With the development of all walks of life, especially in medicine and chemicalindustry, the demand for ethyl acetate in constantly increasing, and green chemistry will bethe dominant direction in chemical development in the21st century. Although now theethanol step oxidation method can make up some defects, for it has some strong pointssuch as no pollution of waste liquor, non-corrosiveness, readily available of raw materialsand simple process etc, ethanol conversion rate and ethyl acetate selectivity are stillrelatively low. So we need to develop new catalysts to improve these two features andexpand production to meet people’s needs. This paper uses Reverse titration coprecipitation method, Deposition-precipitationmethod, Paralled flow precipitation method to prepare copper-zirconium based catalyst, and investigates the catalytic performance of the ethanol synthesis of ethyl acetate reaction.By using some characterizations such as X ray diffraction (XRD), TemperatureProgrammed Desorption (TPD), Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR) andTransmission Electron Microscope (TEM) ect. to characterize the prepared catalystand combining with process data, inc luding conversion rate of ethanol, selectivity ofethyl acetate to determine the best preparation method.According to the best preparation method, by changing the reaction temperature, reaction time, precipitating agent type, roasting temperature and roasting time and so on tosynthesize catalysts under different conditions. Then we combine the conversion rate ofethanol and selectivity of ethyl acetate in results of characterization results and processreaction to determine the best synthesis conditions of catalyst. Then we can get the optimalconversion rate of ethanol and selectivity of ethyl acetate. The experimental results show that combined with the result of characterization andprocess research, when using Reverse titration coprecipitation method, we can get optimalcatalyst performance of copper-zirconium-based catalyst in catalytic reaction of ethanolsynthetize into ethyl acetate under the conditions of NaOH as the precipitation agent,80℃ synthetic temperature,6hours of synthetic time,400℃roasting temperature,6hours ofroasting time. After1.5hour of reaction at280℃, conversion rate of ethanol reached85%,the selectivity of ethyl acetate reached66%.
