For the past few years, With the maturity of laser technology, Laser processing is moreand more widely used in industry. As it is own welding characteristics of the thick plate,it is always difficulty in Welding processing. The traditional welding manner can’t getgood quality of welding joint, because of many reasons as low welding, speed, wide heataffected zone, welding deformation and not agile and convenient. And laser welding hasthe advantages of focused power, heat affected zone is smaller, high welding speed, etc.It can be very good deal with these problems.The rapid development of laser technology promotes many invention of laser. Laserprocessing head as the laser processing system very important component, It is natural tomeet laser processing needs. This paper analyzes the laser Gaussian beam transmissioncharacteristics and optical fiber laser, and produce a laser processing head, The structureof laser welding head is consisted of optical axis adjusting module, collimating module,focusing module, protective mirror module and air curtain module. Design a moduleconnect with the robot, meet the product in each station in the welding.In this paper, by the narrow clearance fiber laser wire filling welding processperformance test research use of Twenty mm thick stainless steel on the Weldingplatform, Get the best weld morphology by Improving process parameters like defocus,welding speed, wire feed speed, wire temperature. Then design the size and shape of thegroove. Begin to do the contrast test when make sure the best groove. Observe thewelding joint through the phase microscope and scanning electron microscope and findout the reasons of the weld crack and weld porosity, and then summed up the solution.Finally, produce the CCS coil box base on the test parameters that we researched, andget the products that have no porosity defect and crack defect. Research the welding jointfor hardness and mechanical property, The hardness of welding joint in heat affectedzone is the largest. Detect the CCS coil box by X ray, it is achieve the weldingrequirement standard, and can be used in practical production.
