Cycloheptanone is an important medicine and industry raw material. It can be used tosynthesis therapeutic drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis and hypercalcemia, and alsoused for the additives of fuel, production of lubricating oil. Owing to the lack of synthesisof Cycloheptanone researches in domestic, discussion the routes of cycloheptanonesynthesis and the optimum conditions are of great significance.The1-(Nitromethyl)-cyclohemanol sodium salt is synthesized with the main materialcyclohexanol and nitromethane through condensation addition reaction without solvent inthe presence of sodium hydroxide. Obtained1-(Nitromethyl)-cyclohemanol byacidification with dilute acetic acid. The process reduces the cost comparing with others.Samples are analyzed by IR, GC spectrum, and refractive index. Discuss the effects ofsynthesis conditions on the yield of product, find the better process conditions. The resultsshow that the optimal synthesis conditions are as follows: the reaction time is10h, reactiontemperature is15℃, the molar ratio of nitromethane to cyclohexanone is1.2:1, the molarratio of alkali catalyst to nitromethane is1:4. The purity of1-(Nitromethyl)-cyclohemanolis89.68%and the yield is59.45%.The cycloheptanone is synthesized with the obtained1-(Nitromethyl)-cyclohemanolby iron reduction, diazotization and ring expansion reaction.Determine the purity of samples by GC spectrum and characterize structure by IRspectrum and H-NMR spectrum. Discuss the effects of the synthesis conditions on theyield of product, find the prefer process conditions. The results show that the optimalsynthesis conditions are as follows: the molar ratio of iron powder to1-(nitromethyl)-cyclohemanol is3.5:1.0, the control range of pH for iron reduction is5~6, the temperatureof iron reduction is40℃, the temperature of diazotization is below5℃, the control rangeof pH for diazotization is3~4. The purity of cycloheptanol is98.15%and the yield is48.69%.
