Flame retardant refers to a class of additives to improve the flame retardancy of the polymer. With the expanding of the flame retardant applications and the awareness of environmental protection, the halogen flame retardant has been replaced gradually by halogen-free flame retardants. Phosphorus-containing polysiloxane is an excellent performance of a flame retardant halogen-free and environment-friendly flame retardant. having the advantages of organic phosphorus compound and organic silicon compound.With the synergistic flame retardant effect of the phosphorus and silicon, the polymer material played excellent performance of a flame retardant. In this paper, phosphorus-containing polysiloxane and methylphenyl silicone resin were prepared, and the flame retardancy were investigated.This paper can be divided into the following five sections:1. Research progress of the flame-retardant were reviewed. Several methods in recent decades had been simply described for the synthesis of phosphorus-containing polysiloxane.2.Silicon resin containing epoxy group was prepared by hydrolytic polycondensation with phenyltrimethoxysilane (PTMS), γ-epoxy propyl trimethoxy silane (KH-560), diphenyl dimethoxy silane (DDS), and then reacted with phosphoric acid to get a phosphorus-containing polysiloxane. The chemical structure of products were investigated by FT-IR and1H-NMR.TGA test results showed that the phosphorus-containing polysiloxane was with excellent thermal stability.3. Methyl phenyl silicone resin was obtained by hydrolyzing polycondensation under acid catalyzed with phenyltrimethoxysilane (PTMS), methyl triethoxy silane. methyl phenyl diethoxy silane.The chemical structure of products were investigated by FT-IR,1H-NMR, and29Si-NMR. Hydrolysis of water, the amount of solvent, reaction temperature, acidity, reaction time on the synthesis of methyl phenyl silicone were also investigated. By TGA analysis, methyl phenyl silicone resin have excellent heat resistance.4.Different amounts of flame retardants were used in PP, using the preparation of phosphorus-containing polysiloxane and methylphenyl silicone resin and ammonium polyphosphate complex flarne retardants. Fllame retardancy. thermal stability and mechanical properties are the main effects of the flame-retardant PP. The thermal stability and flame retardancy of the flame retarded PP were investigated by UL-94, LOI, and TGA.5. Study the application of phosphorus-containing polysiloxane prepared on PC. Retardant properties, thermal stability and mechanical properties are the main effects of the different types of flame retardants and the amount of retardant PC. The thermal stability and flame retardancy of the flame retarded PC were investigated by UL-94. LOI. and TGA.
