Chaos characteristics of the welding process accelerate the crafts optimization andcontrol. At present, however, the majority of research work rest merely on data analysis orsimple program level owing to the lack of professional welding software. It is not conduciveto study the welding chaotic characteristics systemically; meanwhile the algorithms are notnecessarily suitable for welding analysis. Therefore, the welding chaotic analysis software andalgorithms fitting for behavior of welding signal were designed and elaborated.By analyzing user needs, it is considered that the main objective of our software isprocess evaluation based on chaotic characteristic indexes. We programmed the parametermatching method implementing proper phrase space reconstruction, and the multi-conditionoptimized algorithm putting forward to select the non-scale range correctly. Furthermore,three software portions have been installed on VC++.NET platform with windows-stylegraphical interface, which are data object operation, algorithms functions procedure andauxiliary craft analysis. In the test stage, the representative electrical and optical time serieshave been employed, reflecting chaotic characteristics of GMAW process.It is proven that the optimized algorithms in this paper, which has high precision, areable to get right results overcoming the arbitrariness of traditional chaotic calculation. Thewelding chaotic analysis software with friendly human-machine interaction can describeattractor evolution exactly and is verification in welding process researching. It not only hasbeen provided a convenient and reliable tool for welding chaotic research, but also laid a goodfoundation for chaotic synchronization controlling of welding process.
