The reaction which synthesized a derivative of δ-lactone1from CO2and1,3-butadiene has been widely researched by domestic and foreign scientists. Research progress on δ-lactone1has covered the following reaction types:hydrolysis, alcoholysis, hydrogenation, addition polymerization reactions and so on. Until now, there is not much practical breakthrough in the application research of δ-lactone1, and this has actually set up a limitation to optimize it synthesis methods. Therefore, it would be quite meaningful for us to broaden the usage areas of δ-lactone1.In this thesis, polymerization of δ-lactone1was investigated. Also free radical initiators and organic aluminum compounds were utilized as catalyst to activate such polymerization reaction. The effects of the amount of catalyst, reaction temperature and reaction time were examined. It was proved that an olefin polymerization occurred during the reaction, according to the characterization results of IR spectrum and1H NMR spectrum on the polymer’s structures. Eventually, a target polymer product with molecular weight11,500and PDI2.01was obtained, under the catalytic effects of aluminum isopropoxide.
