In recent years,with the developing of dye industry, waste water was dischargedinto rivers and lakes, which leads to threat to human. More and more people focus onphotocatalytic degradation. TiO2has been used for photocatalyst, due to its low cost,high photosensitivity. TiO2can only use ultraviolet, which limits the use of solar light.In earlier investigations, researchers tried to ameliorate the properties of TiO2particles by doping ions in order to improve its photocatalytic activity. Upconversionluminescence agents Er3+:Y3Al5O12and Er3+:YAlO3were used to increase theemission intensity, and it can excite TiO2effectively. But these methods are stillinsufficient to improve the activity of TiO2. In this paper, metal and nonmetallicatoms (Yb, B, Ga, N and F) were used to widen the spectra scope and intensity ofupconversion luminescence agents.In this research, we synthesis Er3+:YbnY3-nBaGabAl5-a-bO12(0.10<n<0.40,1.25<a<2.50,1.25<b<2.50), Er3+:YbnY3-nAl5NxFyO12-x-y(0.10<n<0.40,0.005<x<0.01,0.005<y<0.01), Er3+:YbnY1-nBaGabAl1-a-bO3(0.25<n<0.50,0.25<a<0.05,0.25<b<0.50), Er3+:YbnY1-nNxFyAlO3-x-y(0.25<n<0.50,0.005<x<0.01,0.005<y<0.01)and corresponding photocatalysts Er3+:YbnY3-nBaGabAl5-a-bO12/TiO2(0.10<n<0.40,1.25<a<2.5,1.25<b<2.5), Er3+:YbnY3-nAl5NxFyO12-x-y/TiO2(0.10<n<0.40,0.005<x<0.01,0.005<y<0.01), Er3+:YbnY1-nBaGabAl1-a-bO3/TiO2(0.25<n<0.50,0.25<a<0.50,0.25<b<0.50), Er3+:YbnY1-nNxFyAlO3-x-y/TiO2(0.25<n<0.50,0.005<x<0.01,0.005<y<0.01) through sol-gel method. X-ray powder diffraction(XRD) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize thesurface structure of photocatalysts. Fluorescence spectrophotometer and Ultravioletspectrometer are used to characterize the absorption and emission spectra and theupconversion luminescence was detected. Acid Red B was used to detecte thephotocalytic activity of photocatalysts and the universal propertity was tested.
