Automatic counting bar steel has been the problems which steel bars production enterprises do not resolve well. At present, companies mainly rely on manual measurement to complete the task of bar steel counting. Sometimes a group of bars on the need for regular counting and verification, this is heavy workload. And long time counting work will cause worker physical fatigue and bring large error. So the development of the automatic counting bar system is an urgent need to be resolved.With the technological revolution of the whole world getting the new progressing and breakthrough continuously, the drastic development of technology has already become the key factor driving the economic growth, virtual manufacturing technology is one of key technologies and the thesis is based on engineering application. The paper served for the actual project contain the aspects as follows:First, establish mechanical three-dimensional model of the steel bar splitter driven with hydraulic in the Pro/engineer。Secondly, open the model in the MSN.ADAMS, a mechanics kinematics and kinetics analysis software, establish the Hydraulics model by ADAMS/Hydraulics module and then combine them. Thirdly, connect the mechanical and hydraulics model to the Matlab/Simulink by ADAMS/Controls module to make the hydromechatronics simulation. The result show that hydraulic system matches the mechanical system each other like what people expect. Then, parts of splitter are analyzed on the static using finite element analysis software, to get the data of stress and displacement and ensure each stress below the maximum stress. The reliability and safety of parts is proved on working process.The implementation of steel bar splitter makes a good application with virtual prototype technology on practical engineering, and gives experiences for other project of VPD.
