With national promulgation of regulations on vehicle emissions, fuel consumption,and promote the car to the small-displacement, lightweight development, prompting engineparts by traditional cast iron pieces to light metals such as aluminum, magnesium, zinc alloymaterial. This transition has produced a series of problems. First of all, these castings duringthe casting process are unavoidable exist casting defects such as loosely structure andblowhole. These castings’ pass rate of gas sealing ability is lower than iron castings’ and thecost of manufacturing is higher than cast iron’s. How to solve these problems, with thisquestions the infiltration technology gradually been valued and conducted research duringthis period.In this paper, combined with my company’s infiltration technology process design andresearch of a high-pressure cast aluminum cylinder block, first, brief summary of infiltrationtechnology’s history of the development and Today’s status quo; second, analysis and discussof the infiltration technology mechanism, infiltration method and infiltration timing;third,formulate the final cast aluminum cylinder block infiltration process through the systematicstudy of the craft program of infiltration before treatment、infiltration process、infiltrationpost-processing and air tightness experiments craft programs; followed adopt design eachdevice of the infiltration process by process scheme to ensure the reliability of the infiltrationprocess; finally, comparing the test results to find the best process scheme and parameters sothat enhancing my company’s airtight pass rate of cylinder and reduce costs.
