Polyurethane adhesive for its excellent performance, can get oil resistance, resistance to medium, cold resistance, wear resistance, transparent plastic composite flexible packaging materials, so in plastic composite with adhesive market occupies an important position. Waterborne polyurethane adhesive with water as the solvent, Aqueous polyurethane has not only the excellent properties of solvent-borne polyurethane with low temperature resistance, great adhesion, as well as out standing toughness combined with good flexibility, but also advantages of incombustibility, low odor and environmental friendliness, which the solvent—borne adhesive has not these properties. Therefore, emphasis on study it was laid by researchers. Recently, the production and chemistry of aqueous polyurethane have been developed successfully in oversea, But domestic research on water polyurethane is limited by sorts of conditions, which is basically in primitive stage. In order to overcome the shortcomings and to expand the scope of application of polyurethane adhesive joint, it must be modified.Acrylic ester has excellent water light non-yellowing resistance and aging resistance, etc. and polyurethane in performance has a certain complementarity. Using acrylate modified waterborne polyurethane can overcome their shortcomings, give full play to the superiority, has become a current research hot spot.In this paper, the water polyurethane was obtained from toluene diisocyanate (TDI), polypropylene glycol(PPG), and the dimethylolpropionic acid(DMPA),1,4-butanediol(BDO) and triethylamine(TEA), methyl acrylic hydroxyl ethyl ester(HEMA) on a process of emulsification. The study of DMPA and BDO two chain extension agent of the loading sequence, DMPA content, NCO/OH ratio, water emulsion when factors such as mixing speed of waterborne polyurethane dispersion performance influence.The experiments found that first to add hydrophilic extender chain agent, wait for system isocyanate group to achieve target value, add small molecule chain extension agent, got stable PU emulsion. When the content of DMPA control at6%, NCO/OH ratio in1.3, water emulsion of mixing speed in1000r/min, got the emulsion and the film performance best.In order to further improve the properties of waterborne polyurethane is adopted in this paper, acrylic ester of waterborne polyurethane dispersion were modified, through the double bond of the bridge role, the acrylic ester monomer by free radical polymerization method is introduced into the polyurethane molecular structure. The experiments first by a single factor method determined the acrylate modified waterborne polyurethane synthetic process in some main factors such as polymerization temperature, PU:PA quality ratio, polymerization time, initiator addition amount of value range. Then orthogonal experimental method is the best match process these conditions. And by means of Fourier infrared spectrometer, the glass transition temperature of the tester and transmission electron microscopy on the structure of polymer was characterized.
