The main content of this paper is to investigate the early process of using bipolar membrane electrodialysis to recycle the organic acid in acrylates wastewater. The ion exchange method has been used to remove the metal ion in the wastewater, in order to make sure that there is no metal ion into the electrodialytic treatment period, and thus avoid the development of concentration polarization. The resin screening tests have been carried out at first, the C900chelating resin has been selectd to exchange the main metal ion Ca2+、Mg2+、Cu2+in the acrylates wastewater. Through the static adsorption test, the conditions of static adsorption for ion exchange resin has been studied, which include adsorption time、pH value、dosage of resin and temperature. The results show that a best static adsorption state can be obtained when adsorption time is30min, pH is about6-7, dosage of resin is lg and temperature is45℃. We use Langmuir Isothermal Adsorption Model to fit the data and obtain the isothermal adsorption equation. Besides we have compared the experiments result on both simulated wastewater and practical wastewater, and we found that with the increasing of ion concentration the adsorbance of divalent metal ions increasing faster in simulated wastewater.Based on the static adsorption test, dynamic adsorption tests have been carried out to study the influences of ion exchange performance caused by ion concentration, flow velocity and temperature. The results show that, the breakthrough volume is180BV when temperature is45℃; breakthrough volume is240BV when flow velocity is15BV; the breakthrough point is120BV in the condition of low solution concentration of inlet, when concentration is increased the breakthrough point shows up at70BV, which is because the exorbitant Cu2+restrain the adsorption of resin on Ca2+、Mg2+Finally, we study desorption and regeneration of ion exchange resin. The experiments indicate that desorption rate could reach100%when concentration of HC1is4.0mol/L which is used for resin desorption. The8times cycle test of resin shows that the largest breakthrough volume of resin occurs on the first cycle period and the volume is106.9BV, then the breakthrough volume reduce to50BV after8cycle times. The concentrations of metal ions within the acrylates wastewater have been greatly reduced through exchange adsorption of C900, and it can meet the the requirements of water quality for subsequent treatment. This experimental method is casily to operate and the chosen resin can be cyclic utilized.
