This article describes parameters of AERMOD an atmospheric diffusion prediction model, analysis the effects of different parameters to the simulation results, and according this to adjust parameter settings to improve the model applicability, to find a viable solution applicable to concentrations simulated of sulfur dioxide in the study area. This research has important theoretical and practical significance to the model applied in china, and has practical reference value to control the air pollution in the city. There are three main contents:(1) Analysis effects on the simulation results of different parameters settings and changes.(2) Discuss effects on the daily average concentration of the two different parameters settings. Analysis the compliance of the simulated and observed values, then select the optimum parameter setting program.(3) According to the optimum program, apply the model in the study area to simulate the concentrations of sulfur dioxide in the ground. Analysis the contribution of different sources, discuss the ground concentration distribution of sulfur dioxide in prevailing wind conditions and when the concern point has the maximum concentration. The results show that:(1) According to the impact on the simulate results, the decreasing order is:urban effect, underlying parameters, deposition parameters and the half-life.The underlying surface parameters and the city effect have greater impact on the simulation results, the simulate values which are consider urban effect are higher than that is not consider urban effects. Urban effect has a big impact to the maximum concentration and. Different topographic parameters sets have less affect on the maximum concentration and the location where it appears. Degradation of sulfur dioxide and deposition parameter have little effect.(2) To the daily average concentration in the area, the good model parameters are set as follows:A, Surface parametersTake the concern point as the center, according to the actual situation of the surface, the study area is divided into four sectors in clockwise:1)45-130°,2)130-240°,3)240-270°,4)270-45°, sectors1and3have a roughness of1, sectors2and4have a roughness of0.073.B, take urban effect in considerBased on the number of city inner the study area, taking into four urban areas, the city effect is characterized by the population of the urban areas:1)20million,2) and3)120million,4)570million.(3) Sources which have greater impact on the study area are the no.2source where is located in the western and source no.10where is located in the eastern. In the spring, summer and autumn, the sources which should be control are thats located in the east and southeast. The maximum concentration contribution is up to100%. In winter, source no.1located in the northeast of the study area is the main source that should be control.
