Study On Pollutant Characteristic Of Groundwater Pollution In Jiaozuo Site Of The Middle South-to-North Water Diversion Project

Water is the natural resource which human survival and development depend on, andappears more valuable in the growing shortages of water today. Groundwater which is theimportant water supply source as with the surface water can be used for drinking, municipalwater supply, industry, agriculture and so on and play an important role in human life,national economic construction and social development. Once the groundwater gets pollutedthat will be very difficult to restore, consequently, groundwater has a impact on the ecologicaldestruction and human health, which is longer and more far-reaching. Based on thecharacteristics of groundwater resources in China and the strategy of the serious situation ofgroundwater pollution, groundwater pollution protection and the control to ensure thesustainable development of our economy is particularly important.The fact is that water resources and water pollution restrict the national economy hasobvious. According to the results of the survey, water shortage leads to economic losses morethan10billion Yuan and water pollution gives rise to the economic losses as much as40billion Yuan more every year in our country. Some relevant data show that70%of shallowgroundwater,30%of deep groundwater has been polluted, and90%of urban groundwatersuffer from different levels of nitrogen, organic hydrocarbon, trace toxic and harmful elementpollution in cities. Groundwater environment pollution have already presented the expandtrend of from point to surface, from the cities to the countryside.With the development of social economy, the contradiction between supply and demandof water resources arouses the water problem becoming a restriction of development ofJiaozuo. Jiaozuo is a mining and industry city of which primarily relies on coal energy todevelop chemical industry, electric power, textile, machinery processing. Due to a long periodof Coal Excavation, a large number of groundwater drains away water to the surface in theform of Mine well water, as a result, the groundwater level becomes lower and lower andform regional groundwater filter. In recent years, with rapid economic development, all kindsof industrial and mining enterprises sewage and urban waste water gets into the groundwatersystem through the outfall, sewage, leakage along the river, which seriously threatens theshallow groundwater quality. This paper focuses on the research of shallow groundwater, the pollution sourcesinvestigation, pollution degree analysis and the research of pollutants characteristics, take it asthe basic goal that ensure the security of water quality of main channel, is on the basis ofanalysis the characteristics of pollutants and pollutants transformation laws in zone of aerationand saturation On both sides of the main channel, provides data base for groundwaterpollution source risk control and pollution monitoring and prediction, and offers supportingmaterial for key technology of groundwater pollution risk control and engineeringdemonstration on both sides of the main channel.The main research contents include:1. The main pollution sources and pollution way was investigated in detail in study area,and first step analysis was made which provide detailed information for the next step ofshallow groundwater pollution degree analysis, pollutants distribution, and pollutionmechanism analysis.2. The principal component analysis method was used to analyze and select the mainpollution factor in selected study area, which offers the basis for selection of the fuzzyevaluation factors. Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the study area ofshallow groundwater was taken advantage of and a specific evaluation results was given.Evaluation result was objective and was in line with the shallow groundwater quality of theactual situation in research area.3. Various pollution factor contour map was drawn, pollution mechanism of everypollution factor was researched and some countermeasures about protection of groundwaterpollution was put forward on the basis of evaluation hydrological geology, hydrologygeochemical and shallow groundwater quality in the study area. All this researches willsupply a powerful basis for the study area of shallow groundwater resources planning andobjective management.
