The polysulfonamide fiber is a kind of high temperature resistant and highperformance flame-retardant fibers of aromatic synthesis, and has very excellent heatstability and flame retardancy, good electrical insulation resistance, corrosion resistance,radiation and chemical stability. It has been used in a protective products, filter materials,electrical insulating materials, honeycomb structure materials and flame retardantindustrial textiles and household textiles. However, because of supramolecular structuresstereo regularity, the strong force between aggregate macromolecules, high crystallinity,high glass transition temperature and fiber hydrophobic, all these reasons make it hard todye under routine condition.Dyeing uptake is low, color is light. If the question to the thedyeing of polysulfonamide fibe was resolved, it would satisfy the needs ofpolysulfonamide fiber business, and also can promote the color polysulfonamide fiber ofindustrialization.Based on the polysulfonamide fiber as the research object in this paper, thepolysulfonamide dispersal dyes and cationic dye process were studied in detail. The effectsof different carrier and its quantity, leveler varieties and its quantity, kinds of inorganic saltand concentration, the dyeing time, dye bath pH value on dyeing proformance werediscussed. The fiber surface, the thermal properties, the mechanical properties and thefastness after dyeing technology were also studied. By experiments, we obtained the theconclusions as follow.The crystallinity of polysulfonamide fiber treated by a carrier was improved by4.42percentage points.In no carriers, under the situation of less than100℃dyeing temperature, the dispersaldyes or cationic dyeing uptake was very low, when the dyeing temperature was130℃, thedyeing uptake increased. In a word, dyeing uptake was low.With the series carriers comparison, the polysulfonamide fibe has good dyeing effection when acetophenone as its carrier, the fiber residual excitant odour was big, it wasunenvironmental with recycling trouble. The fibre had ideal dyeing effect when with N-cyclohexyl-2-pyrrolidone as its carrier, but the quantity was large, its price was moreexpensive. Consideringly, carrier Awas more suitable for a dyeing carrier.We attained the best disper dyeing parameters with carrier A.Those were: the dyeingtemperature was100℃, the concentration of carrier A was10g/L, the time of dyeing was60min, the concentration of TOP was0.5g/L, the pH was5~6, the bath ratio is1:40.We attained the best cationic dyeing parameters with carrier. Those were: the dyeingtemperature was80℃, the concentration of carrier A was15g/L, the time of dyeing was60min, the concentration of sodium sulphate was10g/L, the concentration of levelerdodecylbenzenesulfonic acid sodium was0.5g/L, the pH was5~6, the bath ratio is1:40.The mechanical properties almost had no influence after treated by carrier A, the rateof the breaking strength and tearing strength was keeped above90%, the fiber after dyedwith cationtic dye had a beetter reslut than disperse dyestuffs dyeing.The dyeing fastness of the fiber was very low, it was grade1, the fastness wasimproved by1~2class after treated by carrier A, the washing fastness and rubbingfastness were also improved. The washing fastness was better when the fiber dyed withcationic dye RED GRL than fiber after dyed with cationtic dye had a better reslut thandisperse dyestuffs3B.The dyeing washing fastness for polysulfonamide fabric dyed with cationic dye REDGRL was better than with disperse dyestuffs3B.
