| Silicon carbide particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites (SiCp/Al) havemany outstanding properties, such as high specific strength and high specific modules,high temperature resistance and good wear resistance,low thermal expansion and gooddimensional stability, which make them are increasingly being used in the areas ofaerospace, automotive and optical precision instruments,etc.However,drilling SiCp/Alcomposites is a serious problem all the time.It is not only drilling productivity low, butalso tool life time is short.With the increasing of SiC particle size and volumefraction,the processability is more difficult.So it is necessary to research themechanism of drilling SiCp/Al composites with high efficiency and precision.the dynamic simulation of drilling SiCp/Al composites was carried out by finiteelement software DEFORM-3D in the paper,research the drilling force andtorque.Therewith it carries out experiments about the drilling force,turque,machiningsurface quality and the wearing of drill.There are main research contents andconclusions as follow:(1)In the paper,the dynamic simulation of drilling SiCp/Al composites wascarried out by finite element software DEFORM-3D. The results show that with theincreasing of feet rate,drilling forces and torque are all increasd; with the increasing ofcutting speed,drilling forces and torque changed slightly.(2)It carries out experiments of drilling SiCp/Al composites with diamond plateddrill,the paper research the effect of different machining condition and the cuttingspeed to drilling force and torque. The results show that the variey of drilling force andtorque are the same basically in dry or wet machining condition,with the increasing ofthe cutting speed,drilling forces and torque changed slightly.(3)This paper does some research for machining surface quality and the profile ofchips. The results show that as the cutting speed rise,the roughness of axial direction also increases;In dry machining condition,chip has discontinuous serrate shape,in wetmachining condition, chip has crack shape.(4)This paper does some research for the wearing of tool. The results show thatthe main wearing position of tool are transversal blade and back facet;The wearing oftool are abrasive wear mainly. |
