A research into adsorbents used for separating ethylene from fluid catalyticcracking(FCC) dry gas was made. The dynamic adsorption apparatus was adopted toselect suitable adsorbents for separating ethylene from ethane/ethane mixture. In thisthesis,CuCl/4A,CuCl/γ-Al2O3and AgNO3/γ-Al2O3were studied separately. Theinvestigation focused on the Cu-based activated carbon adsorbents with CuCl2asprecursor and activated carbon made in Chengde as carrier. Investigation was carried outon the influence of calcination temperature, calcinations time, pretreatment condition andCuCl2loadings on separation results. It showed that the calcinations has little influence onadsorbents,350℃,8hours was the suitable calcination conditions; calcination during thepretreatment process has no effect on the adsorbents; the equilibrium adsorbed amount forC2H4and C2H6decreased with the increasing of CuCl2loadings, while the selectivity ofC2H4increased. The comparison between the incipient wetness and mechanic muddlingshowed that the incipient wetness gives better separation results. It also revealed that theBET surface decrease sharply as CuCl2was soaked on activated carbon, and thisphenomena was related to the decrease of total adsorption amount for C2H6/C2H4.
