Fixed-bed coal gasification system is designed for the gasification study of Hunyuan bituminous coal. The results of gasification experiments show that particle size, volume flow rate and partial pressure of CO2, pyrolysis temperature and time, and gasification temperature can produce influence on coal gasification. Research shows that the optimum residence time decreases as the pyrolysis temperature increases, which may be decided by the own characteristics. Three kinetic models are applied to calculate the kinetic parameters. The Volume Model is suitable for the coal char non-catalytic gasification and there exists kinetic compensation effect between activation energy and pre-exponential factor.Shell CaO shows the best catalytic performance when compared with dolomite and analytically pure CaO. The paper mainly studies the effects of particle size, calcination temperature and time, carbonation time and circulation times on shell CaO. Sintering can decrease the catalytic performance. Gasification temperature is one of the important factors. At a certain gasification temperature, cycle number has small influence on the catalyst at the first15cycles. Cycle number can not be the only factor to explain the change of catalytic ability when cycle number and gasification temperature change at the same time. Calculation of activation energy contains two times of data treatment, which brings error accumulation. Therefore, reaction rate constant can reflect the gasification activity more accurate, scientific and representative.
