This paper mainly adopts Haake rheometer to achieve the reclamation of waste butyl rubber (ⅡR). With record of the torque curve in experiment and measurement of Sol content and Mooney viscosity in reclaimed rubber, the influence of desulfurization by distinct process parameter and kinds of additives were investigated, meanwhile the difference between the extruder and Haake rheometer desulfurization process were compared. Afterwards with the mechanical property measurement of the reclaimed rubber after vulcanization, the variation between which and the vulcanized rubber could be founded. Finally, the butyl reclaimed rubber was tried to prepare more widely used rubber products with the other kind of rubber alloying.With TGA curve analysis of waste IIR, the results show the temperature plays a very important role in waste IIR desulfurization, the desulfurization degree will be better with the temperature arising within200~320℃;The variation of rotation speed in rheometer concerns the mechanical force, and with the increase of the rotation speed between40-80rpm, the desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber gently after the first rise.It is essential to confirm the other process parameters after the measurement of desulfurization degree on distinct experiment condition. First of all, the desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber become immediately decrease when the loading degree in rheometer is fallen; The confirmation of reaction time depends on the temperature, rotation speed and so on, and it will be insignificance to increase the reaction time when the reclaimed rubber reached the highest desulfurization degree; The size of waste IIR(fineness of rubber powder)have a close relation to the desulfurization rate, normally the smaller waste IIR(the finer rubber powder) is, the faster desulfurization reaction will be, and the higher manufacturing efficiency will become; The screw rotation speed, one of the process parameter in extruder desulfurization process, has a dual character on desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber, choosing a right screw rotation speed can make a maximum desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber.Such kind of additives including BPO, DCP and AIBN, cannot improve desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber; however, the right formula of softener, activator and rosin can make it. The amount of these three additives interact, only by the right formula, can the desulfurization degree of the reclaimed rubber be promoted. Moreover, the confirmation of charge order depends on the type and property of the additives, so it will also make a difference between distinct charge orders.Tensile strength, Elongation at break and Shore A Hardness of the reclaimed rubber after vulcanization was studied, and results show the reclaimed rubber with higher desulfurization degree often has lower tensile strength, just contrary to the Elongation at break. Meanwhile, the additives, especially the softener causes the mechanical property of the reclaimed rubber decrease. Therefore, when confirming desulfurization process parameter and formula, desulfurization process and property of the reclaimed rubber shall be both considered.The process of compound butyl reclaimed rubber with the other kind of rubber can promote the mechanical property of the reclaimed rubber after vulcanization, expanse the applied range of the reclaimed rubber. Finally after the study on the damping property of the butyl rubber, it was founded that the butyl reclaimed rubber has better damping property compared with the butyl rubber.
