Unconsolidated sandstone reservoir distribution in China is more widely distributed,andlargely reserved.It occupies an important ratio in the production of crude oil.The main factorsfor this type of oil reservoir is the sand.Sand production in oil well is mainly one of problemsin unconsolidated sandstone reservoirs,but there are technical problems about how to detectthe sand control and the effect of sand control in oil well in the country over the years.Quality fill gravel has important implications for the effect of sand gravel fill.It can becontrolled by the detection of underground distribution of sand bodies.The detection ofunderground distribution of sand bodies can improve the uniformity of the gravel fill, eXtendthe validity of the sand,but also can detect underground gravel layer penetration, andultimately optimize the filling process.The research on the identification and measurement for sands on the basis of X-rays inthe downhole is mainly disscussed in the paper.Based on theoretical techniques of densitylogging at home and abroad, for the complexity of the measured materials and theenvironmental restriction,a novel method plan in identifying sands on the basis of X-rays ispresented in the paper; The development of system solutions is accomplished, main powercircuit design, ray detector selection and indoor physical model,and the pulsed neutronactivation of the sand body recognition technology is mentioned.This paper mainly studiedthe identification and measurement for sands based on the medium energy ray radiation,andthe hardware circuit; including the pre-amplifier circuit of opposite phase and the mainamplifier and the voltage limiter circuit and the peak hold circuit and A/D conversion circuitand so on.Throughly direct or indirect measurement of the parameters, the density andchanges of the sands is detected.The experiment which based on the theory shows the system has achieved the designrequirements and also provided certain reference for research on sand detection method ingravel fill effects.
