The object of study in this paper is the heat shield abroad which is one safety device thatis used to landing-gear. Considering the processing characteirstics of the heat shield abroad,the spot welding process of the multilayered ultra-thin sheet stainless steel whose thickness isjust0.1mm is researched. Based on investigation of welding to ultra-thin sheet stainless steel,this kind of researches is seldom. And few factoires can achieve volume-produce, and thiswelding technology has a long way to go. So the characteirstics of the imported workpicce isresearched in this paper, and one pirvate automatic welding equipment for multilayeerdultra-thin sheet stainless steel is designed, which include three parts: mechanical structure,control structure and welding testing.The mechanical structure is designed based on characteristics of the workpiece and spotwelding technology, which mainly include designing of auto feeding structure and electrodes.The auto feeding structure works by the step-motors. One spot welding, then one feed,themovement of the workpiece can be controlled precisely by this way. Top clcctrode works byfrequency conversion timing dynamo. The frequency to reciprocating movement of the Topelectrode is controlled by transducer. Control section mainly includes designing of thehardware and sotfware. The hardware section includes the design of key hardware circuits, thecontrol pirnciple of motors and production process of the PCB. It is focused on the powercharacteirstics of stored energy welding in this part, the Features of stored energy welding andconstant-current charge is analysised,and then the charge and discharge circuit is designed tothis equipment. It is given that the key flow chart in the sotfware scction, includes programdesign process of LCD, keyboard input and automatic welding process. The optimizingwelding parameter is got from the spot welding expeirments by the pirvate automatic weldingequipment. The joint strength of ultra-thin sheet stainless steel is ensured by the reasonablesolder joint quality assessment methods.The practice results show that this equipment rationally designed to the mechanical partsand control part, has complete ifinctions, works stably to the system and has a high weldingefifciency.
