Polysulfone amide (PSA) is a kind of new high temperature-resistant fiber produced by China independently, the name of commodity is Tanlon. It has perfect heat-proof, refractory and fire-retardant performance., its LOI is33%. But just like all the polyamide fiber, its UV-protection is bad. After100hours’ radiation in the simulative climate, its strength declined60%-70%, and after200hours’radiation, its strength declined about90%. And its application has been limited.Because the degradation of the polymer materials, so how to improve the Ultraviolet aging resistance ability is our major work. The nano-ZnO is considered to be promising ultraviolet shielding agent and a kind of photocatalyst because its high efficient and non-toxic characteristics. If used in textile industry, it can impart the fabrics UV protection and antibacterial and other functions.So now it has a bright future in anti-ultraviolet finishing research. Nano-ZnO is used on the PSA modified finishing in this paper in order to improve the polysulfonamide’s ability of ultraviolet aging.At first, the PSA fiber, yarn and fabric should be treated by soda hydroxide (10%) at room temperature for2hours. After the preparations, PSA can be well hydrolyzed. In the preparation of nano-ZnO dispersion, tTitanate coupling agent (DN-311W) and low molecular weight sodium polyacrylate as dispersing agent are used, the pH is9~10and with the help of ultrasonic oscillator (SK3200H), the high quality of nano-ZnO dispersion is acquired, the PDI is0.215, the average particle size is157.6nm.And then, the nano-ZnO dispersion is used to treat the PSA fiber, yarn and fabric at high-temperature(130℃), The UV-aging test showed that PSA resistant to UV-radiation had been improved significantly after finishing. The IR testing of the finished fibers showed that nano-particles ZnO grow in the fibers that is chemical reaction was generated between the nano-particles ZnO and the PSA fibers, the fastness in the collation is improved, then it can extend the life of service; then use the SEM to observe the surface of the fiber, there are many cracks on the surface of the original fiber, while there are less on the surface of treated fibers. Then it also improved that the method is useful; at last use the apparatus to test the UPF of the fabrics, the result is that:the original is20, while the treated is35, it stands for high Ultraviolet resistant effect, it also improves that the method is viable.
