Non-woven materials with natural three-dimensional network structure and good characteristics such as porosity, flexibility and elasticity etc., is extremely suitable for sound absorption materials in recent years. Therefore they are very bright for the application of the supatex fabric in sound absorption material area. Compared with the traditional production process, melt-blown process is a novel and promising non-woven technology. Polypropylene melt-blown non-woven materials have excellent noise reduction performance, a liohtweight structure and easy to recyele, ete.,which are designed to meet the rpquirpmpntts for sound-absorbing materials. Melt-blown non-woven sound-absorption materials are bound to have a flourishing development and more and more widely application. In this paper, PP melt-blown non-woven materials is taken an the research object. The melt-blown non-woven process and their product characteristics are deeply analyzed. And the research results for the sound-absorbing non-woven materials at home and abroad are summarized. Then the sound absorption performance for the melt-blown non-woven materials are attempted to be improved from the production process and their structures. First, in the PP melt-blown process, the adjacent fibers often mutually stick together in a parallel form. The nuclear catalysts are added to the PP slice, which can reduce the occurrence of the parallel arrangement between fibers. The influence of the kind and content of the nuclear catalysts on the sound absorbing performance for the PP melt-blown non-woven materials are analyzed. Then, the three-dimensional crimped hollow polyester fibers are added into the PP melt-blown non-woven material. The sound absorbing performance for the PP melt-blown non-woven material with three-dimensional crimped hollow polyester fibers are tested. By comparing test results, how much three-dimensional crimped hollow polyester fibers should be added to get the best sound absorption materials can be determined. Finally, the PP melt-blown non-woven material and the PET melt-blown non-woven material are grouped together into new sound absorption materials. And the effects of the new materials which have different materials and structures on sound absorbing performance are tested.
