Ultra fine powder of tungsten carbide alloy is produced in self-propagating apparatus with different process parameters. The varied results of different parameters are studied with micro-analysis to systematically know what the influce of self-propagating process to the property of the tungsten carbide powder is. This will provide the theory evidence to the sintering of self-propagating powder. Research scheme and technical route are listed as follows:Ingredients designâ†'SHS reactionâ†'powder processâ†'powder granulationâ†'cement sinteringâ†'after-processâ†'performance test.WC was sintered by gas pressure or gasless pressure sintering method using SHS-WC powder and some other additives. Scanning electron microscope was used to observe the micro structure of the materials. The content of crystalline phases was determined with X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis (Rigaku Geigerflex D/Max, C Series, Cu Ka radiation Japan) and the morphologies of the as-synthesized products were observed to know the property of the materials. The study shows that small crystalline grain size Kentanium with high rigidity can be obtained through vaccum sintering the Ultra-fine SHS-WC powder blended with depressant. Too long time of holding temperature stage may lead to the abnormal growth of crystalline grain. Correspondingly the property of the Kentanium will also become worse. |
