A method for determination of trace methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE) by headspace-GC was investigated. The regress equations of high concentration were y=2481x+1665and the low concentration were y=4.0015x+128.42, The former of relative standard deviation(RSD) is less than3%and the recovery was above92.7%~104.9%, while the latter of RSD is less than10.4%and the recovery was above80.2%~104%.The advanced oxidation of MTBE by UV/H2O2and UV/H2O2/O3were studied by the self-made photochemical reaction device. The order of factors which influence the degradation of UV/H2O2and UV/H2O2/O3were as follow by use of the orthogonal experimental method, the former was H2O2>pH>T>t and the optimal conditions was t=50min、H2O2=1mL、T=30℃、pH=11, while the latter was pH>T> H2O2> CO3and the optimal conditions was Co3=1.86mg/h、H2O2=0.5mL、T=25℃、pH=11. Besides, The two kinds of methods in the degradation process of CODcr degradation rate were always lower than that of MTBE, the results show that the reaction process were made some other intermediate product which was difficult to be degradation, finally it lead to the changes of CODcr.The kinetics of oxidation of MTBE by UV/H2O2and UV/H2O2/O3were investigated. The results show that the degradation of MTBE by UV/H2O2and UV/H2O2/O3were correspond with the first reaction kinetics, while the latter of the kinetic constant was obviously higher than that of the former. In addition, the effects of operating parameters on photochemical degradation kinetic character were also investigated, such as MTBE concentration, pH, H2O2concentration, temperature and so on, the apparent activation energy of two methods were26.4kJ/moL and29.3kJ/moL, which was lower than the average of the activation energy chemical reaction. Moreover, the UV/H2O2and UV/H2O2/O3were established on the basis of the above. In the certain scope, two kinds of model were can be appropriate for their the system forecast of reaction kinetics. Afterwards the degradation mechanism was analyzed, The results show that the main product of the UV/H2O2was AC, TBF and TBA, while the UV/H2O2/O3was AC, TBF, TBA and MA. Finally, these two methods were compared anlysis, the result proved that the UV/H2O2/O3was superior to the UV/H2O2.The degradation of MTBE in actual water sample by UV/H2O2/O3was studied and the results show that MTBE can not be detected after30minutes, which conformed to the EPA standard. While when the reaction time come to50minutes, the concentration of CODcr was less than20mg/L, which reached the national standard of surface water environment quality standard GB3838-2002.
