PPTA which was produced by China shenma group liability company and Kevlar49which was produced by Dupont were used as experimental materials, the filament structures and properties were analyzed in this paper. The same specifications of Keviar fabrics were woven by the loom for weaving small sample in the lab, and then laminated with fiberglass cloth, after that done shock resistance experiments by Air Cannons. Research showed:(1) Domestic PPTA is mainly composed by poly-p-phenylene terephthamide and Para Phenylene Diamine, which is the same as Kevlar49. While, the degree of crystallization and crystallite dimension of the former are separately49.4%,1.65nm,4.44nm,13.38nm, which are smaller than the latter which are separately53.7%,2.26nm,5.83nm,10.99nm.(2) SEM analysis shows that the cross sectional shape of para-aramid produced by Shenma and Dupont are both irregularly rounded, while Kevlar49are serrated, special structure; In the longitudinal appearance shape, Domestic PPTA is bright and clean, while, Kevlar49has different depth of the groove.(3) The DSC and TG curves can be separated into3temperature fluctuation ranges(0-300℃、300~550℃、550-700℃) which shows that home-made PPTA and Kevlar49fibers were cleavage at550-700℃,and thermostability and flame retardant efficiency of Kevlar49were better than home-made PPTA.(4) When the two para-aramids were treated by continued high temperature, the positions of peaks of some perssads were all altered, the content changed, the degree of crystallization and crystallite dimension became smaller, fiber mechanical properties fell, all of those showed that the continued high temperature could degrade para-aramids in some degree. (5) Home-made PPTA and Kevlar49wereheated by0-300℃for lOmin shows that the molecular structurecan keep the better stability and fiber mechanical propertieshad the lesser effect.(6) Research of pure plain weaves fabrics which were made of PPTA shows that the warp and weft density and total tightness were55.7,34and70.8. The Permeability of A eries fabrics was better than B Series fabrics. The properties of bullet-proof of B Series fabrics was better than A Series fabrics by experiment of Air Cannons. The experiments also show that energy absorption of the type A3and B3fabric had reached38.42J and41.11J which shows the fabrics played a very good protective effect.
