Titanium alloy is an important metal material in the aerospace field. Because thecharacteristics of the Titanium alloy itself, using ordinary cutting method to cut titanium hole,cutting force heavy, cutting spring back large, the tool easily wear, the quality of hole isdifficult to guarantee. So the application of Titanium alloys in the aerospace field is limited. Inthis paper, the method of ultrasonic vibration cutting is used to boring Titanium alloy on thelathe, in order to research ultrasonic vibration boring titanium alloy and its technological rule.The ultrasonic torsional vibration device is mounted on the lathe, the ultrasonic electricsignals is sent by the ultrasonic generator, the ultrasonic generator transmit the ultrasonicelectric signals to the transducer, the transducer makes the ultrasonic electrical signals intoultrasonic frequency vibration, and lend it to the turning tool, the turning tool producesultrasonic frequency vibration with a certain amplitude, in order to achieve ultrasonicvibration cutting of separation type pulse force.Single factor experiment and orthogonal test is used on the Titanium alloy to research theeffect on its surface roughness, roundness and straightness under different cutting parameters.Single factor experiment results show that: when the cutting speed is lower than the criticalcutting speed is pulse separation type vibration cutting mechanism, with the increasing ofcutting speed surface roughness increases, cutting speed has little effect on the roundness andstraightness; when the cutting speed is greater than the critical cutting speed is ordinarycutting mechanism, with the cutting speed increases the surface roughness, roundness,straightness increases. Generally speaking, the effect of the feed rate on the surface roughness,roundness, straightness is not large. When the ultrasonic generator power is large enough, theeffect of cutting depth on the surface roughness, roundness, straightness is not large.Orthogonal experiment results show that: in intuitive analysis, the effect of feet rate onsurface roughness is large, the effect of cutting speed on roundness is not large, the effect ofcutting depth on straightness is not large. In the analysis of variance, cutting speed, feed rate,cutting depth has no significant effects on the roughness, cutting speed has significant effectson the roundness, cutting depth has significant effects on the straightness. Ultrasonic vibrationboring experiment for Titanium alloy has obtained a clear effect, but it is not ideal. This paperanalyzes the reasons and points out the direction of future research.
