The oxygen-rich oxidation process is a new technology which has been successfully used in the preparation of pure terephthalic acid (PTA), the process used oxygen-enriched air (21%~30%) instead of air or oxygen-depleted air as the oxygen source. This article focuses on the development of an alternative method to traditional non-catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane with air. In order to increase the capacity to20%and reduce20%of the total emissions of tail gas, the novel process used oxygen-enriched air instead of air or oxygen-depleted air as the oxygen source. The technology in the present work had experienced a series of research and development process including small test, mode test, industrial test and industrial application. Besides, some experiments were designed to research the reaction kinetics and evaluated the safety risks based on non-catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane with air. The technology was successfully used for the industrial preparation of cyclohexanone, generating significant economic benefits. |
