SiCp/Al composite has many excellent properties and plays an increasinglyimportant role in the field of science and technology in the aerospace, military and otherstate-of-the-art. But the poor wettability of the SiC and Al surface makes SiCp/Alcomposite is difficult to prepare. This experiment chose Gel casting to prepare SiCp/Alcomposite in order to decrease the difficulties which were brought by the poorwettability between the SiC and Al surface.In order to study the affect of every component to the suspension stability ofslurry, chose anhydrous ethanol and deionized water as dispersion medium of the Gelsystem, PVP and (NaPO3)6as dispersant, adjust the pH value of the Gel system.Experimental results show that, chose anhydrous ethanol as dispersion medium, PVP asdispersant, when the concentration of PVP goes to0.04g/ml and PH=9.3gel system getthe best suspension stability.To get the best casting operable time, study affects which were brough by theconcentration of every component in the gel system, take AM as monomer, MBMA ascrosslinking agent,(NH4)2S2O8as initiator,(CH3)2NCH2CH2N(CH3)2as catalyst and thedosage of them ultimately determined to be20wt.%of monomer concentration, thecrosslinking agent with the monomer concentration ratio of1:10,0.04g/ml of dispersant,3%of initiator,3ml/L of catalyst.For the purpose of removal dispersion medium and other organic ingredients in thegreen body and prevent the oxidation reaction of Al, take drying temperature and dumptemperature as80℃and450℃.After removal organic ingredients, the density andmechanical properties of the green body were reduced, cold pressing and hot pressingcan improve the properties of it. Experimental study every factor of cold pressing andhot pressing and the experimental results go to cold pressing pressure for8Mpa,Holding pressure time for20min, hot pressing pressure for4.2t, heat preservation for1.5h,the hot-pressing temperature for605℃.
