Hydrogenation and hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of several typical functional groups of bio-oil (-Ar,-CHO,-OH and-OR) were studied over different catalysts in a batch-type reactor. Furfural, phenol and anisole were selected as model compounds. Furfural is a representative among numerous aldehydes in bio-oil. It has high chemical activity and thermal instability. The influence of temperature on catalytic hydrogenation and HDO of furfural over Pd/C or Pd/Al-SBA-15was studied. The effect of different supports on catalytic hydrogenation and HDO of furfural, phenol and anisole have been studied as well. The results show that, Pd/C has high selectivity for hydrogenating with C=C and-CHO groups, but almost no HDO reaction of-OH and-OR. Differently, Pd/Al-SBA-15has high activity and selectivity on HDO of-OH and-OR. Moreover, Pd/Al-SBA-15has high surface area and large pore size, which can benefit for the fast transfer of reactants, especially for the macromolecules in bio-oil and therefore improve the catalytic performance. |
