A pharmaceutical company is upgrading the existing wastewater treatment station, in order to reach a new water quality standards. Its main biological treatment processes is the combined process of anaerobic and aerobic membrane bioreactor. At present, the wastewater treatment station renovation work has been almost completed. The purposes of this study, using membrane bioreactor to treat pharmaceutical Wastewater, is provide some reliable conditions to run and control MBR after the completion of the sewage treatment station renovation. The conditions include biological system control parameters (such as concentration of activated sludge; dissolved oxygen; hydraulic retention time etc.) and membrane module operational control parameters (such as operation cycle; membrane flux; backwash etc.). The study of membrane module performance on the treatment of pharmaceutical industry wastewater by using MBR is a part of the MBR test.In this test, the waste water comes from the company sewage treatment station anaerobic tank. Using three different groups of membrane bioreactor (PVDF microfiltration membrane bioreactor; PVC ultra-filtration membrane bioreactor; PVDF ultra-filtration membrane bioreactor) treat the wastewater, then emission the water. Study the effect of some parameter to membrane fouling when the MBR is running. And also take a operating cycle and backwash test. Through the test, we have these following conclusions.(1) The test compared the effluent effects of three groups of membrane bioreactor, the MBR effluent quality is related with the biological systems operate. Comprehensive comparison of three groups of membrane, the PVC Ultra-filtration MBR is more suitable for treating Norfloxacin pharmaceutical wastewater.(2) With the test of membrane fouling factors experimental study, and through the operation mode, temperature, aeration and biological systems operating conditions test, the results were obtained that with a intermittent backwashing operation mode, higher water temperatures and higher aeration rate can delay the trans-membrane pressure rise. In the long testing process, there will be a range decline of flux, and PVDF microfiltration membrane decreased is most obvious.(3) Determine the three membrane bioreactor run backwash cycle based on the test data. The backwash cycle of PVDF microfiltration membrane is10d, PVC ultra-filtration membrane is12d, and PVDF ultra-filtration membrane is14d. It also determine the chemical maintenance cycle of ultra-filtration membrane, PVC membrane after1to2backwash need a chemical maintenance and PVDF after2to3times.
