In this paper, PBS-based biodegradable polymers used as the researchmaterial, common crops and soil microorganisms used as the research object, and further studied the effects of degradation intermediates, degradation productsand degradation residues of poly(butylene succinate)-based polymers on plantsand Soil Microorganisms in the degradation progress, by outdoor growthexperiments of romaine Lettuce and green vegetables, the change of soilrespiration and microorganisms amount. The conclusions listed as follows:(1)The results of outdoor plants growth experiments showed that, proteinand chlorophyll content of romaine Lettuce and green vegetables were increasedslightly at a lower concentration of PBS, decreased slightly at a higherconcentration, but the inhibition can be basically negligible at the last stage ofexperiment. Malondialdehyde content of romaine Lettuce and green vegetableswere decreased when the group was processed by PBS, and the rate of decreasewill be greater at a lower concentration of PBS. Peroxidase activity of lettuceand green vegetables were less affected at a lower concentration of PBS, theeffect were bigger at a higher concentration, but the negative impact will be littleat the last stage of experiment.(2)The soil microorganisms experiments showed that, when the group wereprocessed by PBS with Mn3.0×10~3and8.0×10~3, soil respiration were increasedslightly at a lower concentration of PBS, decreased slightly at a higherconcentration. With increase of PBS molecular mass, the inhibition will beweaken. When the group were processed by PBS with Mn1.6×10~4and3.0×10~4,soil respiration were increased, which was stronger as the content of polymer gothigher. When the group were processed by PBS with Mn3.0×10~3and8.0×10~3, soilbacteria amount were increased slightly at a lower concentration of PBS,decreased slightly at a higher concentration. With increase of PBS molecularmass, the inhibition will be weaken. When the group were processed by PBSwith Mn1.6×10~4and3.0×10~4, soil bacteria amount were increased, which wasstronger as the content of polymer got higher. When the group were processed by PBS with Mn3.0×10~3, soil fungi amountwere increased slightly at the early and last stage of experiment, decreasedslightly at the middle stage of experiment. When the group were processed byPBS with Mn8.0×10~3,1.6×10~4,3.0×10~4, soil fungi amount were increasedslightly at all the stage of experiment. When the group were processed by PBS with Mn3.0×10~3and itsconcentration is higher, soil actinomycetes amount were increased at the earlyand last stage of experiment, decreased slightly at the middle stage of experiment. When the group were processed by PBS with other molecular mass, soilactinomycetes amount were increased or decreased slightly.
