The nano-SiC powders were crushed into the the high manganese steel in the casting process of productionconditions. The addition were0.01%,0.05%,0.07%and0.1%. To contrast,the high manganese steel withoutnano-SiC powders were also poured.The nano-SiC powders were special superficial modified. After the heattreatment, the effect of the nano-SiC powders on the high manganese steel microstructure, the cold hardeningeffect, the tensile strength and the wear resistance were investigated. The wear resistance of high-manganesesteel is result from the speed cold hardening. The impact of substantial operating mode was simulated by theshot peening. Then, microhardness of the shot peening surface was tested and the microscopic morphology wasobserved. The results show that the addition of0.7%nano-SiC powders obviously refined the high manganesesteel grains up to60%, and the tensile strength increased up to7.4%. The nano-SiC powders significantincreased the slip bands and improved the surface hardnss after the shot peening. As the the shot peening timeprolonging, the effect of cold hardening was improved with the addition of SiC powders. The nano-SiC powdersenhances the cold hardening capacity. With the addition of0.7%nano-SiC powders,the grooves becameshallower, and the pits became fewer after the wear test. Besides, the wear weight of high manganese steelreduced up to19.2%. The nano-SiC powders improves the wear resistance of high-manganese steel.
