Silk fibroin is a natural and nice finishing agent which has a good affinity with the human body besides the good biological function .So it is a green finishing agent. Because of its ecological environmental meaning, it has become a hotspot in recent years. Cotton fabric wears comfortable, with good moisture absorption and permeability, and is deeply loved by the people. The emergence of an endless stream of high-performance, multi-functional textile fiber materials also has brought a great impact to cotton fabrics , therefore, the potential development of cotton fiber function, modifing cotton fiber and enhancing the added value of cotton fiber has become the focus of product development. China is a silk-producing country. It not only has a wide range of silk protein source, but also a considerable amount of waste silk. If these waste silk liquid is recycled, coat it to the cotton fabrics, and get the cotton fabric which not only preserve its own characteristics but also has the characteristics of silk fibers, it will have a very important significance.In this article, coat the silk solution into the fabric with the help of cross-linking agent to combine the advantages of the coated fabric with the virtues of the silk. Through this , we will integrated into a new fabric and study the changes of the performance .In the application of silk, we first have a select from the kinds of crossing- link agents. Through the weight gain rate and infrared spectroscopy of the finished cotton, we choose SDP as our crossing-link agent. In this article ,we use the method of baking and rolling to process the fabrics to study the finishing parameters such as the concentration of the silk fibroin, SDP , chloride and citric acid ,baking temperature and time and optimize the process. The optimum technology of SDP as cross-linking agent is as follows: silk fibroin concentration of 20g / L, Ni Puwei concentration of 200 g / L, magnesium chloride concentration of 14 g / L, citric acid concentration of 1 g / L, curing temperature to 140℃, curing time is 120s.From the modification of silk fibroin ,we use acrylic to graft the silk and finish the fabrics with the modified silk and determine the best finishing process. The optimum technology is as follows: modification of silk fibroin concentration of 400 g / L, sodium chloride concentration of 100 g / L, sodium carbonate concentration of 60 g / L, curing temperature is 160℃, curing time is 120s.In addition , we tested the performance of the finished cotton fabric, such as whiteness, breaking strength, tear strength, crease recovery angle and so on and study the effect of silk fibroin on cotton fabrics. By scanning electron microscopy and infrared differential spectra ,we determine the fixation of silk on the surface of the cotton fabrics though the effect of the crossing-link agent.
