Because of its abundant interconnected pore canals and larger pore volume and specific surface area,the activated alumina sphere became a kind of superior solid adsorbent,which is widely applied in petrochemical industry,fertilizer, steel industry,and so on.In order to meet users’requirements of better performance of the activared alumina sphere, the main factors,which affect the specific surface area,pore volume and strength are studied in this thesis.Based on the lab study,after pilot-plant-scale tests,we gain the optimal process parameters and produce qualified products.Through the single factor experiments in laboratory,the results indicate:we mix p-alumina materials,which was roasted at 900℃,6% pseudo-boehmite with 3% ammonium bicarbonate,and keep the bulk density in 0.70-0.80g/mL,then gain the fresh pellet.we maintain it for 8h at room temperature,and 4h in steam,and then calcinate it at 420℃.In this way,the specific surface area of the obtained activated alumina sphere can improve from 260m2/g to over 300m2/g.The pore volume was increased to 0.43mL/g from current 0.40mL/g.The strength index of each sphere was enhance from 100N to 130N.The results at pilot-plant-scale demonstrate:we tested the optimal parameters in the lab and use the new admixing methods.When the fresh pellet was produced,we spray 0.5% pseudo-boehmite collosol collosol.The method can reduce the abrasion of final products,and keep the performance index stable.The practices in continuous industrialized production indicated:using the optimized process conditionss,we can produce the activared alumina sphere,the diameter of which was 3-5mm, the specific surface area≥300 m2/g, the pore volume≥0.43mL/g, crush strengh≥130N.The performance of products was stable and meet the users needs.
