In order to satisfy the passengers’ need of both communication and entertainment on civil aviationplane, personal communication system onboard has become a hot topic among various airlines andairplane manufacturing enterprise. The main task of this dissertation is to simultaneously simulate andfield test the inner electromagnetic environment of the passenger cabin. During the analysis procedure,we present locally-one-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (LOD–FDTD) algorithm applyingto cylindrical coordinate, at the same time, we combine time series analysis with FDTD method so asto improve efficiency. Besides, we also simulate the whole model of B737-300airplane usingcommercial software based on FDTD method, the validity of the simulation analysis is verified by thefield testing results of the inner electromagnetic environment of the airplane cabin. The main contribution and innovation of this dissertation are as followed.1. We present the LOD-FDTD algorithm in the cylindrical coordinate, deduce two and threedimensional iterative formulas in cylindrical coordinate, special handling of the singularity on centralaxis are introduced. The unconditional stability and high efficiency of the proposed method areverified via computing the resonant frequency of the cylinder resonant cavity.2. We combine the matrix pencil method in time series analysis with FDTD algorithm. Applyingthis method, we analysis the FDTD simulation results of bandstop filter and cylinder resonant cavityand finish time domain extrapolation of the results. By doing this, we gain higher efficiency andaccuracy compared with LOD-FDTD algorithm.3. We use EMPIRE-XCcel software which is based on FDTD algorithm to establish the wholeelectromagnetic model of B737-300airplane, also we apply matrix pencil method to carry out timedomain extrapolation of the simulated results to improve simulation efficiency.4. We design the experimental system and software for the auto-test control system in the fieldtesting of the inner electromagnetic environment of B737-300airplane. Great agreement between themeasured and simulated results are obtained, verifying the reliability of our simulation.
