With the high-speed development of urban construction of our country, somemajor engineering projects, such as high-rise buildings,large bridges, the platform,which will vibrate easily and sharply under external load, such as the earthquake,thewind,the sea wave and so on, are substantially increased. So, it’s necessary to researchthe vibration control on these constructions. Tuned mass damper(TMD), as one of thepassive control technology, is a vibration control system that developed more mature. Atthe same time, TMD(SATMD) which has variable damping or variable stiffness was putforward to improve the high investment and repair costs,large power need and reliabilityissues of active mass damper(AMD) and active tuned mass damper(ATMD). SATMDhas low investment and cost of repair and low power need just need some simplehardware equipment. TMD system is installed as control device in the actual buildings.So, TMD is a control device with good application prospect.In this context, it has great practical value to calculate the vibration response of thestructure by external excitation load test. In this paper, on the basis of looking back ofthe search status and existing problems of external excitation loads,one bridgeinteraction and structural damping measures at home and abroad, there are some workhave done as follows:At first, experimental study of mechanism of external excitation loads was done,it shows the informations of test principle, test of significance, test process, collationof results of external excitation load test did in laboratory by the author by thenumbers and contrast the acceleration curve of the lower box girder under the externalexcitation load pattern.Secondly, it provides informations of calculation of vibration theory of boxbeam under external excitation loads,especially the forced vibration theory in selfexcited vibration theory.In the research process of box beam,it discussed firstly aboutthe vibration effect of non-TMD beam under additional external excitation loads,thendiscussed deeply about the vibration effect of additional TMD beam under externalexcitation loads.At last, the vibration effect of TMD beam and non-TMD beam are compared. Thechange of vibration effect between two of them when the mass of TMD and mainstructure changed; Besides, the vibration effect of main structure when damping ratiochanged;, it discusses the vibration effect of main structure by changing its frequency of TMD; The end, it analyses the change of the vibration of main structure underincentive effect in different frequency.
