Subway construction monitoring techniques have become an important research topic with the development of metro rail transit construction. It’s an inevitable trend to develop software system with combination of GIS technology used to subway construction monitoring to achieve the graphic-attributes integration of construction drawings and monitoring data, so that construction monitoring is no longer only facing massive scattered construction drawings and monitoring data, but have a real-time and visualization management.By doing much analyzes and research of GIS in the application of subway construction monitoring, this paper conducted a needs analysis, overall design, detailed design, system implementation, according to the process of software development coding and so on. With the actual situation of the second Xi’an Metro Line construction monitoring, develop to achieve the Xi’an Subway Construction subsidence monitoring system, which implements electronic map zoom, roam, mark, measure, Hawkeye and other basic functions; and with data maintenance, query statistics and early warning capabilities based on ArcGIS Engine. Achieve real-time monitoring of subsidence which caused by underground construction, querying of differenct settlement information, a formation of automatic alarm making the settlement points highlighted and blinking when the settlement value exceeds a certain figure. The construction unit must promptly take remedial measures such as reinforcement or grouting to prevent accidents and ensure construction safety when it happens.Main duties include standardizing monitoring data and information of the second Xi’an Metro Line construction, designing and building of spacial database of Xi’an subway construction subsidence monitoring system, complete the system’s functions. System used ArcGIS series tool for data standardization and databases building, SQL Server as the back-end database server, Visual Studio2008as a development environment,and C#language combined with ArcGIS Engine Develop system functions.
