The frequency stability of the traditional Rb atomic clock is mainly limited by light shift,cavity pulling shift and optical detection noise. The pulsed optically pumped (POP) Rb atomicclock can resolve these three problems fine. And compare to the traditional Rb atomic clock, thefrequency stability of POP Rb atomic clock is improved about one order of magnitude. Besides,it has the advantage of compactness and low weight, so the POP Rb atomic clock has greatlyfuture prospects of utilizing.Compare to traditional Rb atomic clock, POP Rb atomic clock has great advantage, buttemperature is still one of the main factors that affect its frequency stability. In part one, theinfluence of temperature on buffer gas collisions shift and clock transition signal, includeRamsey fringes and cavity pulling shift, is studied theoretically and experimentally. The resultprovides a valuable reference to the subsequent design and research. We have to study theminiaturization of POP Rb atomic clock, so as to achieve the advantage of compactness and lowweight. In part two, we analyze compacting optical system with respect to selecting laser diodeand designing optical circuit. In order to obtain laser of stable frequency, a driving system and afrequency control diod system of distributed feedback laser is built and the test results of them isshown in part three. We also design and test a temperature control system of microwave cavitybased on C8051F410, so that the temperature stabilization of physics package is improved.However, the preparatory miniaturization optical system exist some defects. The basicfunction of related electronics system is accomplished, but the capability must be improved.Therefore, all of the above system need for improving greatly. Besides, the temperature effect inPOP Rb atomic clock also demands deep research to reduce the influence to the least.
