Pultruded fibre reinforced plastics are widely used in civil engineering.Connection problem of composites is one of the key problems on the design ofcomposite structures. Bolted connection and bonded connection are two mainconnection methods of FRP, but both of these connections have obvious disadvantagesin terms of carrying capacity, stiffness, ductility and other aspects. In order to achievebetter results, the main content of this theses is about the hybrid joints of pultrudedfibre reinforced plastics.Based on the above questions, through results of the test and finite elementanalysis used ANSYS we found that:(1) Through the comparative analysis of bonded, bolted and hybrid joints, we cansee clearly that hybrid joint incorporated advantages of the bonded and boltedconnection, hybrid joints have larger stiffness, better ductility and reasonable stressdistribution, and there is an increase in carrying capacity than bolted connections.(2) Through testing and finite element analysis we found: End distance E and laplength L have a large influence on ductility of the joint. It is better that bolt diameterand thickness of the FRPlaminates are equal, and if the diameter of bolts are toosmall, plastic deformation or shear off may happen to the bolts. Number of bolts on ithave the largest influence on carrying capacity of the hybrid joints. Number of boltsalong the load direction should not be3or4. No matter how the end distance changes, the failure mode of the joints are shear out or cleavage, other failure mode rarelyhappened. (3)From the failure process of the specimens we can see that the load transfermechanism is very complex, according to the research and test results, based on thefailure mode of shear out, some suggestions of bolt arrangement and a simple formulawas applied to calculate the bearing capacity of hybrid joint.(4) Take light truss pedestrian bridge as an example, study the typical method andperformance of the connections and provides some basis for future projects.
