There are very rich cultural heritage of soil sites in our country. Soil sites aredestructed by the natural disasters, such as weathering, acid rain erosion,earthquake,etc. Research of the strengthening agent for the gaochang city is meaningful for thestudy of northwest soil sites protection.The disease causes of soil sites are analyzed and investigated based on thecharacteristics of the northwest arid area site in this topic. Soil sites weatheringmechanism and weathering formation are discussed in this paper.Combined with thesoil of Gaochang ancient city ruins status and advantages and defects ofcommonlyused anti weathering reinforcement materials in practical conservation work, as well asthe influence factors of reinforcement effect.The organic inorganic composite emulsiontype reinforcing agent for Gaochang ancient city soil site are preparated in thispaper.And some meaningful conclusions were got:(1) The main characteristics of Gaochang ancient city environment is the maincharacteristics of high temperature, drought, little rain, windy. Chemical characteristicsof the Gaochang site was analysised in this paper. The conclusion shows that the soil ofGaochang site is rich of space belongs to loess. The disease of the Gaochang soil sitesis mainly weathering erosion.(2) Select the silica sol, silicone coupling agent (A-151, KH-570) and acrylatemonomers as raw materials to preparat two series of14kinds strengthening agent withdifferent acrylate monomers formula by emulsion polymerization. The Influence of reaction pH value, reaction temperature, reaction time, silicone coupling agent in themodifing experiments were discussed. The ideal reaction co-nditions was that reactiontemperature is40℃, pH value of the system is about5, reaction time is3hours,silicone coupling agent amount is3%.(3) The practical application of reinforcing agent was tested by water resistancetest, salt tolerance test, freeze-thaw resistance test, and aging test. Through these tests,best reinforcement agent was selected in the two series.Then reinforcement effectbetween the selected strengthening agent and silicone acrylic emulsion are compared.The experimental results show that the organic inorganic composite emulsion typereinforcing agent preparated in this task can greatly increase the strength of soil, andhas good water resistance, freeze-thaw resistance, salt resistance resistance and agingresistance. Weathering ability of reinforced soil increased significantly. Afterreinforcement, the soil color and porosity of Gaochang ancient city soil did not changesignificantly. Tht strengthening agent preparated in this paper meet the userequirements.Compared with silicone-acrylate emulsion that is widely used in the conservationof earthen sites, strengthening agent of this paper not only has good performance in thetest,but also change permeability properties of siliconeacrylate emulsion. Silicasol/silicone-acrylate composite reinforcement agent comprehensive performance isbetter than the currently widely used silicone acrylic emulsion.
