At present the construction investment of out-of-factory roads is in a rapiddevelopment stage,the quality of its design directly influence the production, supplyand sales of industry and mine enterprises. When design the out-of-factory roads,optimization method has obviously advantages compared with the plan comparison oftraditional design, which is the foundation for automation design by computer. Profileoptimization design uses mathematic method to optimize the profile alignment,whichdirectly impact on project investment and operational size of the road, and possessessocial and economic benefits actuality in improving the quality of the alignment design,reducing the design cycle and labor intensity of the designer.This paper applied genetic algorithms to optimize profile alignment of theout-of-factory roads, and put forward a new method for generating the initial population,which provide more reasonable seeds scientifically, and make the system produce moreoutstanding individuals. The chief research contents and achievements of this papercould be summarized as follows:(1) By studying on the problem about the profile optimization design ofout-of-factory roads, author determined the optimization mathematical model of thispaper, which including selected optimal variables of mileage and the design elevationfor the change points, chose the object function, and set up the constraint conditionbased on the code of out-of-factory roads design.(2) By adopting polynomial curve fitting to get the fitting curve which incarnatesthe basic landform rising and falling, in order to properly guide the trend of the slope.By third-order derivative of the fitting curve to find the inflection points, first of all, using Minimum Two Multiplication Principle fitting beelines near the inflection points,every two adjacent beelines intersect may be getting the initial change points,thenadjusting the position of these grade change points based on constraints,and connectingit,to get the initial profile project. The project comes from the fitting curve,so it is veryclose to the ground line.(3) Starting from the initial profile alignment, this paper used genetic algorithm tooptimize and design vertical alignment of out-of-factory roads, achieved the applicationof genetic algorithm in vertical alignment optimization by dividing the area near thechange points into meshes, and forming the initial population of genetic algorithm basedon the premise of ensuring the quality of the population.(4) This paper analysis the process and theory for profile optimization of theout-of-factory roads detailedly, based on the theory expounded above,author used thematlab7.1and its genetic algorithm toolbox to optimize and design profile alignment.And the effectiveness and practicality of the toolbox has been proofed by practices.
