Spindle system of the wind turbine is an important drive part to connect windturbines and gear box, which main role is to translate a variety of complex forces andtorques from the wheel, the performance of the spindle has an important influence onthe wind turbine reliability and security. Large wind turbine spindle system is made asthe study for papers, and based the Germanischer Lloyd (GL) the wind turbinecertification, the spindle static strength, fatigue life are researched in-depth, and thedesign of the spindle bearing is optimized. A basis and direction is provided for thestructural strength analysis and optimization design of wind turbine spindle by theThesis results with a high practical value.Thesis main research is as follows:Chapter1:The development present situation of the wind turbine at home andabroad is described, the technology status quo of key components analysis issummarized, the shortcoming of the present components analysis are pointed out, thedirection for subsequent research is specified.Chapter2: Three-dimension software is used in the spindle system solid modeling.And the software Hypermesh is used to mesh different types of meshing units, and thepros and cons of both is compared.Chapter3: Structural static strength analysis and modeling methods of spindlesystem including geometric modeling of the spindle and its bearing are studied.staticstrength analysis in the finite condition and static strength analysis of the bearing areboth made. Static strength analysis of a larger condition of the spindle, and theappropriate conclusions is drawn.Chapter4: Fatigue life of the spindle system. Based on the Palmgren-Miner linearcumulative damage theory, the finite element model of the spindle system for fatigueanalysis is established and dedicated wind turbine software GH Bladed is used to extractfatigue load spectrum, and calculate the fatigue damage of the spindle under fatigueloads, and the same the method is used for the first time to calculate the bearing fatiguedamage, and the reliability and security for the wind turbine operation is ensuredgreatly.Chapter5: Combination of the topology optimization method and the study ofbearing. Optistruct modules of Hyperworks software is used for the optimization of bearing design, and optimized model, the static strength of the stress of the optimizedmodel is compared to the non-optimized one. The strength requirements is meet,optimization goal is achieved.
