The excavation of deep foundation may lead to instability of the supportingstructure and soil, and also do great danger to the surrounding buildings, undergroundstructures and pipelines by causing the soil slip, bottom heaving and other disaster. So itis necessary to do site monitoring during the excavation of deep foundation pits and therunning process, in order to get dynamic and real-time monitoring data in time and doanalysis of the monitoring data timely. Then at last we know the changes of supportingstructures and surrounding environment fully, and could take remedial measuresimmediately to make it safe once finding some abnormal condition.This paper introduces the external composition, measurement principle andapplication development of measurement robots, and also designs safety monitoring andearly warning system of the deep foundation pits based on the Leica surveying robots.The safety monitoring system of deep foundation pits consists of two parts: monitor andanalyzer.(1)The monitor. It is used to get collection of original data, which is based on thedevelopment platform of programming language C#and SQL2005database, using theGeoCOM development package provided by Leica company. And then we can realizethe remote communication between Georobot and computer in a wired or wirelesstransmission mode to get the long-term safety monitoring of deep foundation pitautomatically. The monitor takes the polar coordinate automatic measuring method andwe design the concise database storage structure to save the monitoring data and relatedinformation in real time.(2) The analyzer. It reads data from the database to do data processing, draftingand output. The data processing is mainly used to weaken the interference of systemerrors and random errors by doing analysis of the reference points and base points,differential correction, correction model of the base compensation and wavelet.The analyzer achieves the three major functions mainly: real-time monitoring, dataanalysis and early warning in real-time.(1) The real-time monitoring module can synchronize and update the real-timemonitoring data that is got by the monitor.(2) The real-time early warning module can give an alarm to notify the relevantpersonnel, when encountering some emergency situations, such as point difference exceeding the limiting difference. And then we can take measures to prevent someaccidents.(3) The module of data analysis can do analysis and processing to the monitoringdata, and help the relevant personnel to make decision by getting the trending of datachanges.After the commissioning completion of the safety monitoring and early warningsystem of deep foundation pits, it is used in the practical application of the deepfoundation pit in Qingdao metro. The practice shows that, the system is efficient,intelligent, real-time and dynamic with a simple operation interface. The monitoringsystem achieve a good monitoring effect in the actual project of the deep foundation pit,playing a tremendous role monitoring in the construction process and the subsequentstability of supporting structure.
