Experimental Research On The Residual Strength Of Slip Soils

As the residual strength of slip soil is an important controllingfactor in the landslide stability analysis, therefore,issues like determining the residual strength, strength attenuation law and residual strength indicator of soil by tests havealready been paid more and more attentions. Among which, the determination of residual strength of the slide soil needs some unique control and its research has boththeoretical significance andcertain practical meaning.Taking the actual slip soil of an ancient landslide nearing the dam area of Lechang gorge hydro junction in Guangdong province as the research object, this paper targets the strength characteristic of fine-grained soil containing coarse particles and make a systematic research on the determination ofresidual strength and its adoption in calculation by laboratory test, overall stability calculation and theoretical analysis. The main contents are as follows:1. Many groups of reciprocating drainage shear contrast tests are used in the soil by direct shear test, research the residual strengthtest method of fine-grained soil containing coarse particles, influencing factor of residual strength and the relationship of peak strength and residual strength. Based on the test results, put forward the practical single factorempirical equation.2. Discuss the"pre-cut triaxial test" method of determining residual strength, put forward a reasonable testing program according to the difference between fine-grained soil containing coarse particles and fine-grained soil, demonstrate the method and result of test by contrast tests, point out the announcements of determining the residual strength by triaxial test and the reasonable judgment of test results, which provide a new path for the laboratory test ofresidual strength.3. Based on the test results of residual strength of slip soil, make the overall stability analysis of the actual slope, compare the difference of distinguishing slope stability through peak strength and residual strength, analyze the influence of strength parameters selection on the calculation results of slope stability.
