The dynamic performance of Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) and rotor system are affected byboth the AMB support and rotor dynamics. The research in this thesis is based on the transientresponse of an AMB-Rotor system. The finite element model updating method is used to identify thesupport parameters of AMB system. The project has been researched and the content is described asfollows:The dynamic model of an AMB-Rotor system is built by finite element method. The transientanalysis methods in NASTRAN are introduced and an experience is done to verify the analysisaccuracy. The time-domain model updating method is developed based on modal parameter modelupdating method. Some key problems in time-domain model updating are discussed which make uscan achieve the flow of updating. Also, an example is done to verify the reliability of the method. The damping property of AMB-Rotor system is studied to build more accurate FE model whichused in the model updating procedure. Then, time-domain model updating method is used to updatethe parameters in the free-free rotor model and the suspended rotor model. With the updating of theAMB-Rotor system, the support parameters are identified. With the study of control strategy of the AMB system, we can get the theoretical nonlinear modelof the stiffness. The FE model with nonlinear support stiffness of AMB-Rotor system is built toanalysis its dynamic response. Time-domain model updating method is used to identify the nonlinearparameters of an AMB-Rotor system.
