With the rapid development of economy, people focuse more and more attation on thefunction of the buiding, the corresponding auxiliary facilities, various pipes take up a lotof buiding space. This space can be released if we take the advantage of reinforcedconcrete beams with openings. In the past ten years, scholars at home and abroad cinducta lot of researches on deep and shallow beams with openings, and have obtained plentyof achievement. However, at presen, the code for short beams with openings is notimprove and perfect, and there are few corresponding resaerches. In order to make up this blank and provide reference to the engineering,we doresearch on the experiment of32deep beams with openings under concentrated loads inthis paper. There are20simply supported short RC beams with openings,9two-spancontinuous short RC beams with openings,2simply supported deep beams and1two-span continuous deep RC beam with openings in our research. We analyzes theeffect of span-depth ratio, shear-span ratio, web openings, size and position of openingsand so on to the shear strength and mechanical property, discuss the support reaction, and the reaction redistribution of support reaction of the two-span continuous membersand the influential factor to them.Based on the experiment, and with the help of finite element analysis and thestrut-and-tie truss model,we discuss the model of transferring force under differentposition of the openings.According to the transferring force model we proposedcorresponding formulas for calculating shear strength and advice. The formulas forcalculating shear strength coped well with the data in experiment, and unified thecalculate of deep beams with openings.
