The room thermal process of passive solar house with attached sunspace isdifferent from other types of buildings. The variation law of room temperature of thehouse and its thermal load characteristics are the basis of the research on the heatcapacity and operating strategy of related heating system. The paper studied on thethermal load characteristics of passive solar house with attached sunspace in towns andvillages combining theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.Based on the analysis of room thermal process, dynamic heat transfer controlequations and natural circulation heat convection equations were set up, which laid atheoretical foundation for the research on room temperature and dynamic thermal loadcharacteristics of passive solar house with attached sunspace. The typical villages and towns room thermal process of passive solar house hasbeen analyzed. The paper selected four typical cities (Lhasa, Xining, Lanzhou and Xi’an)which had different solar resources. By analyzing and setting the building simulationparameters, the impact of outdoor air temperature and solar radiation intensity on roomtemperature and thermal load was analyzed and compared. It was found that comparingwith the index of outdoor comprehensive temperature, studying the impact of outdoorair temperature and solar radiation intensity on room thermal process separately couldbetter reflect the heat transfer mechanisms of their own, so that the outcome was moreaccurate and reliable. The influence rules and mechanisms of indoor heat resourses (people, lighting andequipment), the thermal insulation characteristic and thermal inertia of buildingenvelope, the room depth of sunspace and the condition of the natural circulation heat convection on the thermal load characteristics of room was obtained. The results showedthat taking the inner heat resourses into account, it had greater influence on the thermalload calculation outcome of kitchen’s and less influence on that of living room’s, andthat of master bedroom’s was between them two. With the door and windows on publicwall open, the room temperature rose slightly during the daytime when the airtemperature of sunspace was higher than indoor temperature. Owing to its high roomtemperature and low thermal load, for the whole day, it had less influence on roomaverage thermal load. For heavy building envelope and light building envelope, heatstorage coefficient had great influence on the stability of room temperature. Forbuilding envelope with thermal insulation and building envelope without thermalinsulation, heat transmission coefficient had great influence on the average roomtemperature. Thus, thermal inertia index, heat storage coefficient and heat transmissioncoefficient should be taken into account synthetically when choosing building envelope. For areas with different solar radiation intensity, as the depth of sunspace changed, thethermal load variation law remained the same while the amplitude of variation wasdifferent. For areas with heavier solar radiation intensity, owing to larger heat gain ofsunspace and more heat supply to the room, the amplitude of variation of thermal loadwas greater accordingly. The results had certain theoretical and practical significance tothe optimization design of solar house with attached sunspace and its combination withheating system.
