Along with the fast development of economic, the construction of power networkhas been received steadily development. The wind-induced disasters of transmissiontower system, which is regarded as an important lifeline engineering system, can notonly result in power interruption, which impact the usual construction and life, but alsomaybe draws fire disaster and brings great loss to the property. So under the wind loads, the vibration control research of transmission tower is an important researchingdirection for both power engineering and civil engineering. The numerical simulation isan effective method to solve the problem. In this paper, the study on the active controlthe wind-induced response of transmission tower with added GMM actuators deeplyinvestigated in this thesis. And the finite element analysis is done in the model oftransmission tower. The main research works include as follows:(1)The basic characteristic of wind load is investigated. Based on the harmonysuperposition method, the wind speed time history simulation program is composed byMATLAB and applicable fluctuating wind velocity field is received in this paper.(2)The3D FEM model of transmission tower is build up by the finite elementanalysis software ANSYS9.0. The first few frequency and mode shape of thetransmission tower are developed by modal analysis. And the applicability of theselected model is verified.(3)The composition and fundamental control theory of transmission tower structureactive vibration control system is introduced comprehensively. The transmission towerstructural state space equation is established by introducing the modern control theory.(4)The classical optimum LQR control algorithm is chosen as control strategy. Thenby the MATLAB software, LQR control algorithm program is compiled so as to do the dynamic time-history calculation of transmission tower structure active control.(5) Based on the conclusion of Genetic Algorithm which is mainly about the GMMactuators’ location, the author study on the active control the wind-induced responseof transmission tower with added GMM actuators. Results show that, the GMM activerods really reduce the wind-induced response of transmission tower structure. By theway, it’s known that through reasonable active control strategy the active control can berealized. This paper shows that making sufficiently used of GMM actuators, based onreasonable application of the active control strategies in the transmission tower structureand active vibration control is important theoretical significance to resolve thewind-induced response problems in transmission tower structure. It has wide prospectof application.
